Paracetamol is known as acitominophen which is a pain releiver and fever reducer.

Mechanism of Action

Paracetamol is a weak inhibition of COX-1 and COX-2, further inhibiting prostaglandins synthesis.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption- Pcm is orally absorbed from the GIT
Protein binding- paracetamol do not show protein binding
Metabolism- It is metabolized in the liver
Excretion- The drug is excreted via urine

Adverse Effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• Constipation
• Insomnia
• blurring of vision
• Dizziness

Contraindications

• contraindicated in high blood pressure
• In acidosis
• contraindicated in coronary artery disease

In pregnancy- It is safe to use paracetamol during pregnancy
